Cuts; stains; and studies specimens of human tissue to provide data on the functioning of tissues and organs; causes and/or progress of disease; following established standards and practices. The certified histotechnician performs all procedures required to obtain slides from fixed and unfixed tissue and fluids to enable a pathologist to render a diagnosis.

- Associates degree or equivalent.
