Job Title: Litigation Associate – Insurance Defense Location: Chicago suburbs. Experience: 2-4 years insurance defense litigation.
Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 commensurate with experience.

Position Summary: Seeking a motivated litigation associate with 2-4 years of insurance defense experience to handle a diverse caseload including general liability, auto, trucking, construction negligence, medical/professional negligence, product liability, premises liability, coverage disputes, and subrogation. The role offers substantive motion practice, depositions, trial preparation and occasional courtroom appearances under partner supervision.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage assigned litigation matters from intake through resolution
· Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and briefs
· Conduct fact investigation, take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses
· Participate in mediations and hearings; try cases as needed
· Communicate regularly with clients and adjusters; provide case strategy
· Supervise/paraprofessional staff and junior associates as assigned
Qualifications
· J.D. and admission to the Illinois bar
· 2-4 years of civil litigation experience with a focus on insurance defense
· Strong written and oral advocacy skills; excellent legal research abilities
· Client service orientation, good judgment, and ability to work independently and in teams
