We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician I to join our clients growing laboratory team in Northwest Houston. This is a great opportunity for someone with laboratory experience who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build their technical skills in an industrial laboratory environment.
The Laboratory Technician will perform routine laboratory testing, assist with sample processing, document test results, and support daily laboratory operations while following established safety and quality standards.
- Receive, log, and properly handle field samples.
- Accurately complete laboratory data sheets and enter information into laboratory systems.
- Read and follow laboratory analysis and safety standards, including ASTM, UOP, and IP procedures.
- Assist senior laboratory personnel with setting up, adjusting, and operating laboratory equipment.
- Support and conduct basic analytical testing using established procedures.
- Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
- Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
- Assist with general laboratory activities and daily operations.
- Follow all safety, quality, and laboratory procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of related laboratory experience or training.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Familiarity with laboratory sample handling and documentation.
- Reliable, punctual, and accurate.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Willingness to participate in required training.
This is a hands-on laboratory position in an industrial environment. Candidates must be comfortable standing, walking, handling laboratory tools and equipment, and lifting up to 20 pounds. The laboratory may include exposure to petroleum or petrochemical odors, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals while following required safety procedures and using appropriate PPE.
