We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, including those in small group home settings. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, adherence to HIPAA regulations, and the ability to implement care plans effectively. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through patient observation and monitoring.
Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide personal care, including hygiene assistance and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document patient behavior and progress, maintaining accurate records.
- Engage clients in social activities and community integration opportunities.
- Provide transportation to social / recreational activities as well as appointments and other needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment within the home.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a group home or similar setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with ISP plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license, current auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass drug test and comply with MRSI's drug free work policy.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
