Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and physical development.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect among young children.
- Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, circle time, play-based learning, and structured educational exercises.
- Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and collaboration with specialists in early intervention and special education.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress updates, behavioral observations, and developmental milestones.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents.
- Promote child welfare by maintaining a safe environment, practicing first aid and CPR when necessary, and adhering to health and safety protocols.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in preschool or early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, classroom management strategies, and behavior management techniques.
- Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education alongside math activities.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs or requiring early intervention.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with young students, parents, colleagues, and specialists.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment.
- Experience teaching physical education or incorporating movement into daily activities is a plus.
- Knowledge of childhood welfare standards, first aid procedures, and CPR certification is required.
- Prior private school experience or similar educational environments is advantageous.
