About NanoKnee
NanoKnee is transforming outpatient joint replacement. Our Medical Services Organization (MSO) partners with orthopedic surgeons across the country to deliver advanced, minimally invasive hip and knee replacement procedures in efficient outpatient settings. We provide the operational engine behind the clinical experience — from patient engagement and scheduling to practice onboarding and go-live execution — allowing our surgeon partners to focus on exceptional patient outcomes. We are a growing, founder-led organization building a scalable, data-driven platform, and this role is central to that growth.
The Opportunity
The Director, Practice Onboarding & Physician Success owns the surgeon partner lifecycle — from signed agreement through successful go-live and long-term, productive partnership. You will build a predictable, repeatable onboarding engine that gets new surgeon practices live quickly, ramping case volume early, and staying engaged for the long haul.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a growth-stage company. You will design the playbook, run it personally in the near term, and build and lead a team of Physician Liaisons and Implementation Specialists as our surgeon network expands. You will be on the road regularly, meeting surgeons and their practice teams at their offices throughout the United States. This role is built for someone who is energized by field work, not tethered to a desk.
What You'll Do
- Own and continuously improve the end-to-end physician onboarding process, from agreement execution through first case and beyond
- Travel regularly to surgeon practices across the NanoKnee network to lead onboarding, training, go-live support, and ongoing relationship management
- Ensure every practice launches on repeatable, scalable workflows — and moves quickly from “live” to “productive”
- Build trusted relationships with surgeons and practice stakeholders; ensure they clearly understand the operational model, financial expectations, and participation requirements
- Monitor surgeon satisfaction, represent surgeon concerns internally, and drive retention and continued engagement
- Recruit, manage, and develop Physician Liaisons and Implementation Specialists as the network scales
- Partner with executive leadership, the Call Center, and Engineering to align onboarding capacity with surgeon growth
- Track and report on onboarding performance using defined KPIs
How Success Is Measured
- Onboarding cycle time — from agreement to go-live
- Time to first case
- Go-live success rate and early case volume ramp
- Surgeon satisfaction, retention, and continued engagement
What You Bring
- A track record of building and running repeatable, process-driven programs — playbooks, checklists, timelines, and dependencies are your comfort zone
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; you can influence physicians and practice staff without formal authority
- Ownership mindset with strong follow-through and a bias toward action
- Experience hiring, managing, or mentoring team members (or clear readiness to step into people leadership)
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly (up to 50%) to surgeon practices across our network, including overnight travel
- Advanced project management skills
Nice to Have
- BA/BS or advanced degree, ideally in healthcare administration or a similar discipline
- 3+ years of experience in physician relations, practice management, healthcare implementation, or clinical operations, including direct work with surgeons or physician practices
- Orthopedics, ASC (ambulatory surgery center), or MSO experience
- Experience in a startup or high-growth healthcare services environment
- Familiarity with CRM systems and KPI-driven performance management
