Job Title: Lease Operator
Duration: 1 year initially with possibility of extension / go direct
Schedule: To be confirmed - initially 7/7 rotation
Location: Anahuac, Texas
This opportunity offers a technical position focused on the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance preparation of wells, processing units and related facilities. The role supports facility start-up activities and day-to-day field operations, with a strong emphasis on oil, gas and water separation facilities, process monitoring, and safe work permitting. This position is well suited to candidates who can work independently, maintain operational performance, and contribute to continuous improvement in a field-based production environment.
Required Experience:
- Experience in operations involving wells, processing units and related field facilities.
- Practical exposure to oil, gas and water separation facilities operations.
- Experience supporting facility start-up and ongoing operations in a production environment.
- Background in monitoring equipment performance, recording operational data and responding to changes in process conditions.
- Experience working safely around maintenance activities, including gas testing and safe work permitting.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of process flow, unit operating conditions, major line-ups and unit safety equipment, including isolation points.
- Ability to inspect and monitor equipment using vision, hearing, smell and touch to verify correct operation.
- Capability to review computer data and computer-generated schematics to help optimise process performance.
- Proficiency in process monitoring activities including gauging tanks, reading meters, recording data, sampling product, checking differential pressure and monitoring chemical injection rates.
- Ability to monitor critical operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, level, flow rate and vibration, and adjust local process parameters to maintain product specifications.
- Working knowledge of basic equipment maintenance including adding lube oil, tightening valve packing, changing filters and steam traps, and clearing equipment.
- Ability to check valve positions, identify leaks, freezing, overheating and other operating issues, and communicate changes effectively to production leadership.
- Experience using electronic test equipment, hand-held monitors and computer monitoring equipment in field operations.
- Strong awareness of environmental procedures and safe operating practices, including minimising flaring emissions, oil spills and other impacts.
- Ability to work independently, maintain reliable attendance and support team delivery of operational objectives.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
