Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Medical Technician (Med Tech), where you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care across diverse settings. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and patients to ensure accurate medical documentation, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring. As a Med Tech, you will be instrumental in supporting residents’ well-being in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Your expertise will help foster a safe, respectful atmosphere where patients with various needs—including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or disabilities—receive personalized care that promotes dignity and comfort.
What you’ll do
- Assist with medication administration following strict protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems
- Support patient mobility and daily activities in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory impairments by implementing tailored memory care strategies
- Perform catheter care, oxygen care and other medical procedures
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly within medical records ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards and legal requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver holistic patient care that respects individual needs and preferences
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments
- Finger print Clearance Card
- CPR & FIRST AID Certified
- Memory care Certified
- Caregiver Certificate
- Food Handler Card
- Tuberculosis Reading
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols
- Familiarity with MAR systems such as Quick Mar
- Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or memory care services
- Ability to perform medical procedures including vital signs monitoring, catheter care, tube feeding support, and medication management
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassion and patience when working with seniors or individuals with disabilities
