Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to oversee our automotive service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto service management, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring operational efficiency. This role involves managing service technicians, coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs, and driving sales through effective upselling strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the service department, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and mentor service technicians, providing guidance on automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Oversee service writing processes to ensure accurate documentation of services performed and customer interactions.
- Implement upselling techniques to promote additional services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, and transmission services.
- Collaborate with the sales team to enhance customer experience and drive automobile sales.
- Maintain knowledge of current automotive repair techniques and technologies to provide expert guidance to staff and customers.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all service operations.
- Manage cash handling procedures within the service department.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dealership environment is highly preferred.
- Proven background in auto service management with mechanical knowledge across various automotive systems including diesel engine repair, air brakes, suspension, shocks & struts, tire service, and auto body repair.
- Strong skills in automotive diagnostics and repair processes.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
- Experience in auto estimating and effective communication of repair needs to customers.
- Ability to train and develop staff while fostering a positive work environment.
- Familiarity with cash handling practices within an automotive setting is advantageous.
