Join Oregon’s busiest independent automotive and light diesel shop! PAD is seeking a full-time, mid to senior-level Service Writer to manage service operations and deliver an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Greet customers and assess service needs
Properly interview customer and document all concerns to aid technician in proper diagnosis
Explain repairs, timelines, and costs
Provide regular updates and resolve concerns
Maintain strong customer relationships
Service Coordination
Schedule and manage repair appointments
Create accurate service and repair orders
Work closely with shop supervisor to insure vehicle is in repair process on time
Track progress to ensure timely completion
Administrative & Technical
Estimate costs for parts, labor, and supplies
Maintain detailed service records and invoices
Use shop software (e.g., Tekmetric) for workflow
and support technicians as needed
Stay current on automotive and diesel technology
Qualifications
Experience as a Service Writer
Prior experience as a technician is a plus
Spanish-speaking ability is a bonus
Skills Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
Time management and organizational abilities
Solid understanding of automotive and diesel systems
Proficiency in service software and repair order processes
High attention to detail
All-in mentality

Average monthly sales per senior writer: $200K–$350K
