Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Operations Specialist to support daily logistics operations through reporting, forecasting, quality monitoring, and shipment investigations.
This role combines data analysis with operational support. The ideal candidate will use Excel, Python, and business intelligence tools to generate operational reports, identify performance issues, forecast shipment volumes, and assist internal teams in resolving package-related inquiries.
The position works closely with Warehouse Operations, Dispatch, Customer Service, and Quality Control teams to ensure operational accuracy and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations Reporting & Data Analysis
· Generate daily operational reports using Excel, Pivot Tables, and Python.
· Analyze previous-day sorting, dispatch, delivery, and exception data.
· Monitor key operational metrics including:
- On-Time Performance (OTP)
- Sorting Accuracy
- Delivery Success Rate
- Mis-sort Rate
- Driver Performance
- Identify trends, anomalies, and operational risks through data analysis
- Prepare recurring reports and dashboards for management review
2. Volume Forecasting & Capacity Planning
· Develop and maintain shipment volume forecasting models using historical operational data.
· Analyze seasonal trends, client shipment patterns, and operational demand.
· Provide daily and weekly volume projections to support labor and transportation planning.
· Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously improve forecasting methodologies.
3. Shipment Investigation & Customer Support
· Support Customer Service and Operations teams by investigating shipment status and delivery exceptions.
· Research package movement across multiple tracking and operational systems.
· Identify root causes for delayed, lost, damaged, or misrouted shipments.
· Provide clear findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
· Assist with escalated customer inquiries requiring operational analysis
4. Quality Control & Operational Performance Improvement
· Monitor sorting and delivery quality across fulfillment centers and delivery partner.
· Analyze operational performance data to identify recurring issues and process gaps.
· Conduct audits of sorting accuracy, route assignments, and tracking events.
· Support corrective action plans to reduce delivery failures and operational exceptions.
· Collaborate with Operations teams to improve efficiency, service levels, and data accuracy.
5. Process Automation & Continuous Improvement
· Automate recurring reports and workflows using Python and Excel.
· Build and maintain operational dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
· Improve data collection, reporting efficiency, and visibility across departments.
· Document reporting processes, data definitions, and operational procedures.
· Support special projects and business process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Advanced Excel skills including:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP
- INDEX-MATCH
- Data Cleaning
- Conditional Formatting
· Experience with Python for data analysis and automation.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Preferred
· Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or last-mile delivery operations.
· Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
· Familiarity with forecasting models and operational KPI reporting.
· Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
· Chinese language proficiency is a plus.
