Job Summary
The Service Technician Apprentice supports our residential and commercial service calls — diagnosing issues, making repairs, and installing fixtures and equipment under the direction of an experienced Service Technician. This is a hands-on, learning-focused role for someone with 1–3 years of plumbing experience who is ready to build real diagnostic and customer-facing skills and grow into a fully independent Service Technician.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist an experienced Service Technician on residential and commercial service calls, learning proper diagnostic and repair procedures
● Perform basic repairs, installs, and maintenance tasks under supervision, progressing toward independent work as skills develop
● Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining work being performed and building trust
● Present flat-rate pricing and options to customers alongside the lead technician; learn the company's pricing and estimating approach
● Accurately document jobs, materials used, and time in HouseCall Pro
● Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service vehicle
● Follow all safety procedures and company standards on every job
● Participate in on-the-job training and any required coursework toward plumbing licensure/certification
● Support estimate follow-up and customer callbacks as directed
● Look for ways to add value and improve the team; other duties as assigned
Qualifications
● 1–3 years of plumbing experience (residential or commercial service exposure preferred)
● Basic familiarity with common plumbing tools, materials, and repair techniques
● Willingness to learn, take direction, and work under close supervision as skills are built
● Comfortable interacting directly with customers in their homes and businesses
● Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
● Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
● Comfortable working in crawl spaces, attics, and other tight spaces
● Plumbing apprentice registration or progress toward licensure a plus, not required
Physical Requirements
● Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance
● Frequent bending, kneeling, and working in confined or awkward spaces (crawl spaces, attics, under sinks)
● Ability to stand, walk, and work at customer homes/businesses for extended periods, including outdoor work in varying weather
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
