Position Overview:
MIKA is seeking experienced Prep Cooks to provide world-class service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team in a high-end restaurant setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients and produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning as directed by the chef or sous chefs and written company standards

Prepare condiments, dressings, sauces, and simple dishes such as breads or salads

Assist with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies

Follow established recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines as defined by the Chef.

Uphold exceptional safety, sanitation, and organizational practices, maintaining a clean and orderly workstation.

Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.

Take on additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.

Properly cover, date, and store all prepared food items in compliance with safety standards.

Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with restaurant policies and local regulations.

Adhere to all restaurant policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
-
Previous experience as a Prep Cook in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.

Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.

Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.

Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
-
Ability to obtain and/or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Working Conditions:
-
Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.

Ability to work long days when required by business demands.

Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.

Ability to frequently lift heavy items, including trays, up to 50lbs.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
