Duties
- Safely operate buses and other commercial vehicles on scheduled routes, adhering to traffic laws and company policies
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing excellent customer service and support as needed
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by following proper behavior management techniques and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking mechanical systems and reporting any issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with passengers, colleagues, and dispatchers using clear English or multilingual skills when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and safety checks in compliance with regulations
- Provide childcare or senior care assistance when transporting vulnerable populations, ensuring their comfort and well-being
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for the vehicle type
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse communities
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Excellent working knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to work with children or elderly populations with patience, empathy, and professionalism
- Demonstrated customer service skills to create a welcoming environment for all riders
- Capable of handling emergency situations calmly and efficiently while coordinating with first responders if necessary
- Basic writing skills for completing reports and logs accurately
