Purpose: To help University Presbyterian Church share its story with the surrounding community and invite others into opportunities for worship, fellowship, and service.
Schedule: Twenty hours per week, worked remotely other than Tuesday midday staff meetings; occasional attendance at other church events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement communications strategies to help the church connect as fully as possible with its surrounding community
2. Creatively build, sustain, and track UPC’s social media footprint, including its existing presence on Facebook and Instagram
3. Develop, maintain, and update UPC’s website, working with contractors as necessary to implement major overhauls
4. Design and produce signage, graphics, and other written and visual materials relevant to UPC’s external communications
5. Assist with production of UPC’s weekly electronic newsletter
6. Design and operate within UPC’s brand guidelines and general community values
7. Generally support and collaborate with UPC’s administrative and pastoral staff in areas of digital communication
Accountability: This position will report to UPC’s Associate Pastor
Qualifications/Skills:
1. Significant experience in communications/marketing/design, preferably in a faith-based or nonprofit environment
2. Demonstrated proficiency with communications technologies and design tools like Canva, Adobe, Wordpress, etc.
3. Demonstrated experience with social media platforms and website management
4. An independent and self-motivated spirit, capable of imagining and executing on meaningful visions with minimal supervision
5. General alignment with UPC’s mission and values

Pay: $27,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
