Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments following all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA guidelines
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature regularly to assess patient health status
- Assist with activities of daily living including mobility support, hygiene, and feeding, especially in memory care or hospice settings
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Support patients with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or medication management for dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Follow proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety during heavy lifting or patient transfers
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans and report any concerns or changes in condition
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures
- Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Familiarity with medical documentation systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws to ensure compliance and confidentiality
- Hands-on experience with medical office tasks or community-based caregiving enhances your ability to excel in this role
