Position Summary
Girls in the Game seeks a detail-oriented, organized, and creative Development Coordinator to support fundraising, donor engagement and communications. This role is responsible for development-related communications including appeals, stewardship, social media, and event communications. The Development Coordinator works closely with the Development Manager and Director of Development and Communications to ensure messaging aligns with fundraising priorities and organizational goals.
The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and is creative, tech savvy, flexible and organized. The ideal candidate is also someone who has the ability to juggle multiple project deadlines and is a self-starter who will seek new and innovative ways to grow Girls in the Game’s fundraising efforts by effectively sharing our story. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning a career in non-profit fundraising who wants hands-on experience with communications, donor stewardship, events, and development strategy while working collaboratively across departments.
The hiring process includes two interviews: one virtual, one in –person. Girls in the Game is seeking a full-time Development Coordinator to do the following:
Development Communications & Donor Engagement (50%)
- Draft and distribute donor communications including fundraising appeals, stewardship emails, and acknowledgments.
- Support the Named Scholarship Program through donor-facing communications and updates.
- Assist with Giving Tuesday and other development campaign messaging.
- Ensure consistency in donor messaging and tone across platforms.
Social Media & Communications Strategy (25%)
- Manage and execute social media content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Maintain a communications calendar aligned with development priorities and execute the annual communications plan.
- Create content that supports fundraising, donor engagement, and mission storytelling.
- Coordinate with staff to gather stories, photos, and program updates.
- Coordinate the development, design, distribution, and promotion of the organization’s annual report.
Event-Related Communications & Support (15%)
- Develop pre- and post-event communications for fundraising events.
- Coordinate event-related materials including email invitations and social media posts.
- Support communications for major events under the direction of the Development Director and Development Manager, including program books and signage.
- Represent Girls in the Game at partner events and cause marketing opportunities to increase community awareness and support fundraising efforts.
Development & Administrative Support (10%)
- Assist with development database tasks related to communications and stewardship.
- Support scheduling and content deployment for appeals and campaigns.
- Provide general development support as needed.
- Maintain accurate donor communication records in Salesforce.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- The ability to work some evenings and weekends for various scheduled events
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and AI productivity tools
- Experience with WordPress, MailChimp, Adobe Suite, Wordpress websites and Salesforce a plus
- Experience with Canva and videography a plus
- Proven ability to pick up and learn new technological tools quickly and independently
Licensing Required
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Verification of degree/credentials
- Successful completion of background check and fingerprint clearance
- Agreement to comply with all the Girls in the Game policies and procedures

Compensation
Salary is $45,000 annually with yearly reviews, opportunities for raises and advancement. Benefits include health and dental insurance, 401K match, life insurance, short-term disability insurance, , generous PTO policy plus 11 paid holidays, and more.
Accountability
This position reports to the Director of Development and Communications.
