- Drives multi-passenger shuttle vehicles in a safe manner to transport residents.
- Operates radio or similar device to communicate with front desk or other shuttles to receive instructions, report schedule, disruption of service, or accidents.
- Provides excellent customer service by being courteous, helpful, and informative.
- Assists disabled / elderly passengers into and out of vehicle.
- Communicates with supervisor and front desk staff potential problems that might arise or affect resident satisfaction or safety.
- Adheres to company policies and follows all safety regulations.
- Promptly reports any accident to direct supervisor and follows the specified accident procedure.
- Cleans and services vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
- Reports any unsafe conditions of vehicles, tires, or other areas to direct supervisor.
- Treats residents and guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction and strives to exceed customer expectations.
- Promotes a positive image of community and serves as ambassador of community to visitors.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
One year experience working with older adults preferred.
Requirements:
- If car is used, must provide proof of adequate insurance coverage totaling at least $300,000.
- Annual TB testing and/or screening.
Skills:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk.
- Other physical requirements are to be able to speak and to be able to hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to smell as a tool for diagnosis.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Peripheral vision.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with residents, guests and fellow employees.
Knowledge:
- Has a basic knowledge of organization to answer basic questions.
- Must have working knowledge of facility emergency procedures including fire and disaster drills.
Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate with proper English grammar and understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write/type routine correspondence.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level in which they are currently functioning.
- Ability to follow facility policies.
- Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policies.
Equipment:
- Equipment includes multi-passenger shuttle vehicles, wheelchairs, canes, walkers, and other durable medical equipment.
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in high, precarious places; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- This position has been classified as Patient-Facing, a position in which the incumbent could reasonably be expected to routinely interact with clients and/or client family members. Employees in Patient-Facing positions are exposed to healthcare conditions that may require additional training, immunizations, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
