Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties by providing chairside support.
- Take and X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed to protect patients from radiation exposure.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collect vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; monitor patient comfort throughout procedures.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation.
- Operate advanced dental technology like 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics and treatment planning.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to ensure precise documentation and billing.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Training in X-ray safety and radiography techniques.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various procedures across multiple specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
