Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lawn Maintenance Technician to join our outdoor grounds team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining pristine lawns, landscapes, and outdoor spaces to ensure they look their best year-round. Responsibilities
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power tools safely and efficiently
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and mulching to uphold high aesthetic standards
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and pests to ensure healthy growth and proper care
- Manage irrigation systems to optimize watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Conduct tree trimming, shrub shaping, and hardscape maintenance to enhance landscape design
- Apply pesticides or fertilizers following safety protocols to protect plant health while minimizing environmental impact
- Maintain safety procedures at all times during outdoor work activities and report any hazards or incidents promptly
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment
- Experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, and groundskeeping practices
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialized landscaping equipment
- Ability to identify plants, pests, and diseases accurately for proper treatment and care
- Knowledge of pesticide management and safety protocols for chemical application
- Familiarity with irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting techniques
- Outdoor work experience with a focus on safety protocol adherence in all tasks
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as snow plows (seasonal) or tree trimming equipment as needed
- Basic horticulture knowledge to support healthy plant growth and landscape design
- Excellent attention to detail in lawn care, tree care, hardscape upkeep, and general grounds maintenance
