American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 5 years of experience for a night shift community hospital OR position.

Community hospital surgical services department
-
Night shift schedule of 4x10 hours from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
Weekend rotation included in schedule
-
On-call requirements as part of assignment
-
1:1 patient ratio experience
-
Case types may include vascular, transplant, ophthalmology, spine, robotic, and cardiac procedures
-
CST certification through NBSTSA required
-
BLS certification from the AHA required
-
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
-
5 years of surgical technology experience required
-
Experience with vascular, transplant, ophthalmology, spine, robotic, or cardiac cases preferred
-
Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
-
Community hospital experience preferred
-
License required if applicable
-
Valid CA state license required

Assist in preparing for and during surgical procedures by performing routine and delegated duties according to department and hospital standards
-
Support quality patient care throughout the surgical process
-
Perform aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection procedures
-
Participate in specimen handling and labeling, wound care, and universal protocol time-out procedures
-
Utilize equipment such as electrosurgical units, case carts, cell savers, and fiber optic light sources
-
Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, laser safety, and radiation safety standards
-
First-time travelers are not preferred for this role

Returning staff or travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before being eligible to return

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract

Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius

Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
