This position leads all Quality Management systems and Process Improvement initiatives at our Louisville manufacturing facilities. The role focuses on driving operational excellence through lean methodologies, quality management systems, and a culture of continuous improvement. Limited involvement with other locations nationwide; minimal travel required.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the Quality team.
- Lead and facilitate weekly Quality meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Drive process improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing floor, including time studies, value stream mapping, and Kaizen events.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System.
- Implement and maintain visual management systems on the manufacturing floor (5S, performance boards, standard work displays).
- Develop, update, and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Safety) to achieve specific improvement objectives.
- Analyze quality metrics and KPIs to identify trends and drive corrective/preventive actions.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement in quality initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in quality management and process improvement.
- Proven supervisory or management experience.
- Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9000 and TS(IATF) 16949.
- Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques (Kaizen, 5S, SMED, TPM, Value Stream Mapping)
- Six Sigma methodology and statistical process control.
- Quality engineering methods and inspection techniques.
- Process development, documentation, and implementation expertise.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
- Strong team building and leadership capabilities across all organizational levels.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic thinking with tactical execution abilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Close attention to detail with a quality-oriented mindset.
- Experience fostering and working within high-performance team environments.
- Discipline and accountability in procedure implementation and adherence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is performed in both an office setting and a warehouse/distribution environment. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and move about the warehouse floor for extended periods; to communicate verbally and in writing; and to use hands to handle materials, equipment, and computers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The warehouse environment includes exposure to moving powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts), elevated noise levels, and seasonal temperature variations. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas. This position oversees 2nd shift operations and may require evening hours and schedule flexibility to support business needs.
