The individual will have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a wide variety of litigation matters, including but not limited to: defense of high-stakes medical and professional negligence claims; and investigation and litigation of healthcare regulatory matters, construction litigation, employment litigation and commercial/corporate litigation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assisting with pre-litigation strategies to collect pertinent information, evaluate documents and exhibits, and identify witnesses;
- Compiling, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for use by attorneys;
- Analyzing records, including medical records, to identify key facts and considerations;
- Creation of chronologies and synthesizing evidence;
- Managing, tracking, and creating structures to control and easily access discovery documents and other case related materials;
- Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria;
- Coordinating with clients, claims professionals, medical professionals, and expert witnesses to assess liability and assist with the preparation of defense strategies;
- Critical date management for all required benchmarks/deadlines;
- Assist with the preparation of court filings, including cite and fact checking legal briefs, cross-reference checks, confirming proper Bluebook citation, proofreading, and assembling of exhibits and appendices;
- Summarizing depositions and other transcripts;
- Compose and disseminate correspondence as required;
- Coordination of exhibits and materials for court hearings and to comply with pre-trial orders;
- Working closely and directly with attorneys and clients during all phases of litigation; and
- Additional responsibilities include supporting attorneys during trial, including assistance with creation of demonstratives and courtroom presentation/support.

- Proven ability to conduct independent research.
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree preferred.
- Associate's degree or paralegal certificate with eight (8) years of comparable work experience required.
- Ability to multitask using analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment with competing demands.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
