Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health and behavioral assessments utilizing diagnostic tools aligned with ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards.
- Deliver individual therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Provide crisis intervention and manage urgent psychiatric situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that incorporate medical social work principles and patient-centered approaches.
- Document clinical encounters accurately in EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
- Engage in case management activities including patient education, resource linkage, and coordination of home or community-based services.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects related to mental health interventions or behavioral health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with active state certification.
- Demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents, or adults with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Proficiency in psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, psychiatric patient care procedures, and medical records management.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders or PTSD; familiarity with crisis management techniques is preferred.
- Strong skills in clinical documentation standards, data collection for research purposes, and adherence to confidentiality policies including HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds and within multidisciplinary teams in hospital or community settings.
