QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a high school diploma required. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in aquatic management with experience in swim lessons, and aquatics programming is preferred. Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching swim lessons in a group environment. Strong and effective communication skills in both verbal and written form with the ability and desire to provide quality customer service is essential. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient computer skills required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite with aptitude to learn other applications. Experience in RecTrac Recreation software is a plus. Must have strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have a valid IL driver’s license and provide own transportation.
DUTIES:
Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Program Supervisor, the PT IMRF Aquatic Program Coordinator is responsible assisting with the year-round program management of the Vaughan Aquatic Center, and seasonal program management of the outdoor aquatic facilities, Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center and Splash Country Waterpark. This includes summer camps, marketing, facility scheduling, special events and aquatics programming at all facilities. Additionally, the PT IMRF Aquatic Program Coordinator will assist with all employee training for swim lessons, special events and aquatic camps. During the school year, this position will assume Head Swim Instructor responsibilities, providing supervision and guidance to swim instructors and swimmers and performing related duties as required. Hours will vary depending on the season and need, must be available to work evening and weekend hours. This is an at-will position.
