General Description
The Corian (Solid Surface) position operates various stationary and hand tools to assemble and finish solid surface products (countertops, trash can tops, handrails, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner.
This position works in a manufacturing shop environment.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Read work order (cut bill).
- Obtain necessary raw materials, supplies and tools to perform assembly task.
- Lay out raw material on work table and measures material to be cut.
- Use table saw and/or chop saw to cut material to proper dimensions.
- Use shaper and/or router to trim material and round off edges.
- Assemble products per work order using glue process and then clamps material together.
- Finish products using buffer and sander.
- Perform quality control checks on completed items to ensure a match with specifications on work order.
- Transport finished products to staging area.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with coworkers and supervisors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous Corian experience
- Experience operating hand and power tools (table and chop saws, router, sander, buffer)
- Strong shop math skills
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to read work orders
Physical Requirements
Employees must regularly lift/push/pull/carry solid surface material or wood weighing 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds. Safety glasses and hearing protection required.
