Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Dog Associate to join our amazing team for 1-2 nights of coverage a week.
In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of dogs during overnight hours. We are a cage-free environment with futons, crates, elevated beds for the dogs and a bed for overnight associate. You will complete overnight responsibilities and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our canine guests while you all settle in for a sleepover. Ideal candidates will have experience in dog handling, animal care, and a passion for working with pets.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor the behavior of dogs during the overnight shift to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Provide necessary care during the night, as required.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas including play area and common spaces.
- Engage with dogs through to promote positive behavior.
- Completed overnight responsibilities including moving laundry, emptying dishwasher, prepping for morning team and some feeding in the AM
- Communicate effectively with our communication protocol
- Be a strong team player sharing with others a dog's needs and any concerns that may arise during their stay.
- Handle any emergency situations calmly and efficiently, ensuring the well-being of all animals in your care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dog training or handling is preferred.
- Background in veterinary services such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is a plus.
- Experience in pet sitting or kennel environments is highly desirable.
- Strong animal handling skills, including animal restraint techniques when necessary.
- Excellent as a team members interacting responsibly and positively.
- Strong communicator and good at following checklists and procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for dog handling and care tasks.
