Senior Center Director / Municipal Agent for the Elderly
Full time salary position at the Lebanon Senior Center
- Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM (with some evening events)
- Compensation:
- Starting Annual Salary: $52,142
- Annual Salary as of July 1, 2026: $53,445
- Annual Salary after 6 months probationary period: $59,384
Responsibilities
- Serves as the Municipal Agent for the Elderly in accordance with CGA 7-127b.
- Provides outreach, information, and assistance to senior residents regarding available community, state, and federal resources and benefits.
- Assists elderly residents in accessing and applying for programs and services, and reports identified needs and service gaps to the First Selectman and the Department of Aging and Disability Services.
- Directs all operations of the Senior Center, including planning and coordination of recreational, educational, health, and social service programs.
- Supervises staff and volunteers, including transportation personnel, and oversees scheduling, performance, and personnel recommendations.
- Manages transportation services, nutrition programs (including Meals on Wheels coordination), and weekly senior programming.
- Oversees budgets for the Senior Center and transportation services, including preparation, monitoring, reporting, and presentation to Boards as required.
- Develops and implements new programs, special events, and grant-funded initiatives to enhance senior services.
- Maintains partnerships with community organizations, social service agencies, and municipal departments.
- Ensures compliance with required certifications, training, and state regulations.
- Oversees communications, marketing, and outreach, including newsletters, website content, and social media.
- Maintains accurate records, data tracking, and confidentiality of all client and personnel information.
- Promotes a welcoming, supportive environment for senior residents and responds to evolving community needs.
- Performs additional duties as required to support the Senior Center and municipal aging services.

Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with two years of experience in senior or social services or associate’s degree with more than four years of experience preferred.
- Four years of experience in senior or social service programs without a degree.
- Supervisory experience.
