Duties
- Prepare and cook grilled items with precision, ensuring optimal flavor and presentation
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Follow established recipes and menu specifications to maintain consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station and prep areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols
- Support kitchen staff during busy service periods by providing timely meal assembly and plating
- Contribute to menu planning efforts by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily specials
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food industry setting, particularly with grill or prep work
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Culinary experience with an emphasis on grill cooking, meal preparation, and food presentation
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as grills, knives, and prep tools
- Experience in fine dining or catering environments is a plus but not required
- Strong knife skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is advantageous but not mandatory
