Miller Johnson, one of Michigan’s largest full-service law firms, is seeking an experienced full-time eBilling Specialist for our Grand Rapids office. The eBilling Specialist is responsible for managing the full client eBilling lifecycle for the firm, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing. This role works closely with attorneys and staff to support eBilling operations, maintain client and accounting systems, monitor work in progress, and address client eBilling inquiries. This position plays a key role in supporting the firm’s financial operations and maintaining positive client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of duties to support the full eBilling cycle
- Submit invoices through multiple electronic billing (eBilling) platforms, including preparation of LEDES filesMonitor and follow-up on invoice approvals and address rejections or discrepancies promptly in electronic billing platforms
- Gather and submit documentation required to onboard new eBilling clients; including submitting the first invoice to ensure a successful submission
- Serve as a resource and consult with firm attorneys and staff on accounting and eBilling matters
- Coordinate with attorneys and practice groups to resolve eBilling issues and discrepancies
- Professionally represent the firm while responding to client inquiries regarding eBilling
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a professional services firm preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting principles preferred
- Proficient in the use of accounting/time and billing software
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Zoom with ability to learn new systems
- Strong knowledge of electronic billings systems such as Legal Tracker, TyMetrix 360° and BillBlast
- Proactive, organized and detail-oriented to apply strategies to ensure projects are effectively prioritized and executed
- Exceptional client service, independent judgment, and discretion to ensure client confidentiality
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
