Duties
- Safely operate passenger vehicles including shuttle buses, limousines, passenger vans, school buses, and medical transportation vehicles on local routes.
- Ensure compliance with all state transportation regulations and traffic laws during daily operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and passengers, assisting with boarding, and addressing inquiries professionally.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure safety and reliability.
- Manage GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes efficiently while adapting to real-time traffic conditions.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary for loading or unloading luggage or equipment with proper manual handling techniques.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and other operational data as required by company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, chauffeur, bus driver, or in a similar transportation role.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL for commercial vehicles) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating various passenger vehicles such as shuttle vans, limousines, or school buses.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes.
- Knowledge of state transportation regulations and safety standards applicable to passenger and commercial vehicles.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks related to vehicle maintenance or cargo handling.
- Medical transportation experience or paratransit knowledge is a plus but not required.
- A proactive attitude towards safety procedures and adherence to traffic laws at all times.
