Communications & Marketing Coordinator
Temple Beth Am (TBA) is a forward-thinking, warm, innovative and engaging congregation dedicated to celebrating traditional and innovative Judaism. Located in the Pico-Robertson area of Los Angeles we serve about 900 households in the synagogue and approximately 500 students in school (ECC through eighth grade) The community is known for its robust Shabbat minyanim, warm and engaging community, and for its heimish value system.
TBA is eager to find new ways of servicing its own members through the digital space, as well as bringing in new members of all ages.
The Communications & Marketing Coordinator has responsibility for the following:
- Prepare congregation-wide or targeted emails via Constant Contact in collaboration with Department heads as requested, and maintain email lists.
- Website: Update and maintain the calendar and event pages www.tbala.org (WordPress)
- Generate Forms: Create event registration forms using ShulCloud software.
- Create and edit graphics and modify for different platforms
- Social Media: manage Instagram and Facebook accounts with an emphasis on engagement and growth. Share videos and photos consistently with the community, actively sharing to our story, and reshare community partners’ posts and stories to our own.
- Proofread emails and print publications.
- Opportunity for higher-level responsibilities commensurate with experience.
Required Skills & Experience
- Excellent writing skills, with ability to reach members in different demographics.
- Natural ability to learn new programs and software, such as our website, database, etc.
- Strong proficiency with Google Docs, Google Calendar, Facebook, and Instagram
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in collaboration with a team
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Great organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Some Graphic design and content creation experience preferred
- Familiarity with Jewish holidays, life cycles, and Jewish life, a plus
- Familiarity with WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, Social Media Analytics, web-based project management tools such as Monday.com, ShulCloud CRM, YouTube channel management and iMovie, a plus
- Familiarity with AI platforms for content generation, etc.
Position: Full-time, in our West Los Angeles office
College degree - Bachelors preferred
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
