Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Brick Mason to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal across a variety of projects including commercial, residential, and renovation sites. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute masonry projects.
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other materials with precision using hand tools and power tools.
- Mix and pour concrete for foundations, walls, and other structural elements while ensuring proper curing practices.
- Install rebar reinforcement within concrete forms to provide structural stability in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing surfaces, applying textures, and sealing joints for a polished appearance.
- Execute masonry repairs, restoration work, and renovations on existing structures with attention to detail.
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for large-scale projects or material handling.
- Cut, shape, and install various materials including stucco, plastering compounds, metal studs for framing, and tile laying.
- Use schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate measurements and alignment during construction or renovation processes.
- Apply caulking and trim carpentry techniques to seal joints and enhance the aesthetic finish of masonry work.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in masonry work with a focus on brick/block, fireplace and chimney experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles to assess project scope accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels as well as power tools including saws and drills.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics to interpret project specifications effectively.
- Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when necessary for large or complex projects.
- Knowledge of various masonry techniques such as hardscape installation, roofing support structures, plastering, stucco application, tile laying, and restoration methods.
