The Town of Evans Highway Department is accepting applications for the position of laborer/truck driver. The job will require physical labor and use of tools and equipment.
Responsibilites:
-Operate a truck to transport materials, passengers, and equipment to designated locations.
-Loads and unloads trucks.
-Performs minor repairs on truck, checks and replenishes gas, oil and water.
-Washes and cleans trucks.
-Changes tires, lubricates trucks, changes plow blades and shoes on trucks.
-Checks shipping and receiving lists to ensure all items shipped are accounted for.
-Maintains records such as mileage, gas, IL consumption, accidents, and repairs.
-Plows snow and is responsible for the vehicle and actions of his helper when sanding and plowing snow.
Minimum qualifications:
-Be at least 18 years of age.
-Elementary education and a 1 year of satisfactory experience in the operation of a truck or other automotive vehicle.
-Possession of New York State CDL Class B.
-Ability to pass a Federal DOT drug test.
