POSITION SUMMARY
The Tool Crib Associate position will consist of managing inventory for the Tool Crib Warehouse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receive, store, and issue materials, oils and chemicals, and equipment.
- Sort and place incoming materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins.
- Maintain a record of hand tools and equipment as issued and inspect returned tools for damage.
- Perform cycle and inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
- Enter and verify purchase requisitions in ERP system (Odyssey).
- Create new code for all new purchased items (inventory or non-inventory).
- Work with managers to ensure that inventory levels are correct and assist with purchasing new tools.
- Deliver oils and chemicals, packages, and production materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of tools, supplies, and materials using warehouse management systems
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming tools and equipment, ensuring proper storage and documentation.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and root cause analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with procurement teams on sourcing strategies, supplier management, and negotiating favorable terms for tool replenishment.
- Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely to move heavy or bulky items within the warehouse.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, warehouse distribution practices, and inventory management systems.
- Proficiency in data mining, data analysis skills, and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to support analytics-driven decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation skills for procurement activities and supplier management.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot inventory discrepancies or process inefficiencies.
- Familiarity with logistics operations including shipping & receiving, materials handling, and demand planning.
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement techniques such as category management or supply chain analytics to enhance operational efficiency.
- Valid forklift certification along with experience operating heavy lifting equipment safely.
- Strong analysis skills combined with attention to detail for inventory control and financial modeling related to pricing or procurement decisions.
