Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to monitor patient health status
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout their visit
- Support physicians with clinical tasks including medication administration, wound care, and basic life support procedure
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters using medical terminology and ICD coding for diagnoses and treatments
- Manage medical supplies inventory
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outpatient or hospital medicine environments, with familiarity in dermatology, urgent care, or emergency medicine preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to accurately support patient care activities
- Strong skills in patient service, intake procedures, vital signs collection, and ICD coding for accurate recordkeeping
- Ability to operate EHR systems efficiently while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
