Job Summary
Restored Peace is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Respite Care Providers to support children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism spectrum disorder, behavioral health needs, and other disabilities. As a Respite Care Provider, you will offer temporary relief to caregivers while ensuring individuals receive safe, person-centered, and engaging support in their home and community.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and support in accordance with each individual's Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP), Individual Service and Support Plan (ISSP), or Behavior Support Plan (BSP), when applicable.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and other individualized supports.
- Encourage participation in recreational, educational, and community-based activities that promote independence, confidence, and social engagement.
- Support individuals in developing communication, coping, and social skills using positive behavior support strategies.
- Implement approved behavior support plans and utilize trauma-informed, person-centered approaches during challenging situations.
- Monitor the health, safety, and well-being of individuals while maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment.
- Accurately document services provided, significant events, progress toward goals, and any incidents according to agency and state requirements.
- Communicate professionally with families, guardians, case managers, supervisors, and other members of the individual's support team.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold all HIPAA requirements.
- Report concerns regarding health, safety, abuse, neglect, or exploitation in accordance with mandatory reporting laws and agency policy.
- Attend required trainings, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, behavioral health needs, or mental health conditions is preferred.
- Experience in caregiving, respite services, direct support, childcare, home health, or human services is preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within required timelines.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and meet Colorado HCBS provider requirements.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance if transportation is required.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a variety of situations.
- Ability to lift, transfer, or assist individuals with mobility when required by the support plan.
Preferred Qualifications
- QMAP certification (when applicable).
- Experience implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans.
- Experience working with individuals who have autism, dual diagnoses, or behavioral challenges.
- Knowledge of person-centered planning and trauma-informed care.
