JOB SUMMARY: Transports, loads/unloads, inspects, maintains, and repairs marine survival equipment such as lift rafts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transport life rafts, immersion suits, fire/safety equipment, and related materials between vessels, inspection stations, and company facilities.

Board vessels, identify self and purpose of visit to crew, and coordinate equipment removal and return with the Captain, Mate, or Engineer.

Document equipment removed from vessels and maintain accurate service and repair records.

Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Receive life rafts and related equipment for inspection, testing, repair, recertification, and return to service.

Open, inspect, disassemble, and reassemble life raft containers, equipment packs, CO₂ cylinders, hoses, batteries, lights, signaling devices, food, water, and first aid supplies.

Inflate and inspect life rafts to identify damage, defects, or required repairs.

Perform repairs to life rafts, containers, and components using approved materials, adhesives, fiberglass, hardeners, solvents, hand tools, and power tools.

Clean, prepare, patch, test, and verify repairs to ensure compliance with manufacturer and regulatory specifications.

Empty, test, dry, refill, reassemble, and retest cylinders as required.

Apply required decals, labels, and certification markings to life rafts and equipment.

Refold, repack, and secure life rafts into containers following established procedures.

Complete recertification inspections, testing documentation, and repair records.

Operate hand tools, power tools, compressed air equipment, grinding wheels, rotary wire brushes, hand trucks, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.

Move completed equipment and cylinders to designated storage areas using proper material handling methods.

Operate an industrial lift truck/forklift, when authorized.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Heavy - Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Moderate - Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.)
