Duties
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and play based activities.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote active engagement, creativity, and critical thinking among preschool-aged children.
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technology tools to track student progress and tailor instruction to individual needs.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting lessons and classroom strategies to ensure inclusive participation.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective conflict management and behavior management techniques, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies to enhance educational outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, ensuring transparent and supportive relationships.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Job requires standing for long periods of time, as well as stooping, squatting, and running
- Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with a Teacher Assistant, assisting her/him in increasing professional knowledge and skills;
- Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community;
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limited to, the telephone, fax machine, and copier.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Use the playground as an extension of the classroom; assures that the playground is safe.
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment. Assure that classroom equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies are properly maintained and stored;
- Attend staff training and meetings, and board and parent meetings as requested
- Qualifications
- 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or
- One year (1,560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or
- Completion of credentialing programs approved by the Department in accordance with Appendix G of this Part (Early Childhood Teacher Credentialing Programs):
- A) Child Development Associate Credential (Council for Professional Recognition); or B) Certified Childcare Professional (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation) (NECPA)); or
- C) Gateways to Opportunity Credentials: i) Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Credential Level 3 or higher; or ii) The Infant Toddler Credential (ITC) Level 3 or higher.
- Proven experience in early childhood education or preschool teaching roles, with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for young learners.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs, including knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with excellent communication skills for engaging students and collaborating with families.
- Personal qualifications as required in Part 407: Licensing Standards for Day Care Centers, emotional maturity, willingness to cooperate with the aims of the program, respect for children and adults, flexibility, patience, good personal hygiene, and physical and mental health which does not interfere with responsibilities

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
