Title: Machine Operator (4-day work week - Friday's off - Mon to Thurs- Day shift)
Reports To: Shop Supervisors
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Hourly
Important Working Relationships: Shop supervisors and other machine and press operators
Principal Responsibility: Set up and Operate Assigned Machines
Essential Duties:
- Follow Safety Protocols.
- Operate Assigned Machinery.
- Polish, deburr and degrease parts.
- Inspect finished parts using QC instrumentation.
- Read and Interpret Work Orders.
- Learn and Understand Customer Specifications.
- Ensure finished parts meet Quality Standards and Customer Specifications.
- Organize Work Orders to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of fittings.
- Clean Machine (Daily).
- Clean & Organize Work Area (Daily).
- Create and/or Update Set-up sheets for jobs.
- Order Supplies (send requests to Office).
- Perform Required Regular Maintenance Schedule for Machine including filter changes, hydraulic fluid checks / filling, greasing gears and cylinders, and more.
- Operate Forklift (Once Trained).
- Set-up Machine.
- Load / Un-load Dies.
- Square / Clamp Dies & Set Limits.
- Record information as required for cost system.
- Complete reporting requirements for damaged parts.
- Perform other duties when requested.
Physical Demands
Ability to spend ten (10) hours continuously on the manufacturing shop floor. Ability to regularly & frequently lift 50 lbs. throughout the workday.
Education/Skill/Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read & understand QC instrumentation (Verniers/Calipers, gauges, pi tape, and rulers). Mathematics required. Mechanically inclined. Manufacturing Experience preferred.
