SUMMARY
An inventory manager at a meat processing plant oversees the lifecycle of raw materials and finished goods. They ensure strict cold-chain compliance, regulate FIFO (First-In, First-Out) protocols, and track lot codes for food safety and traceability, balancing supply with production demands to minimize spoilage.
Responsibilities and Duties
× Demand Forecasting: Utilize historical sales data, seasonal trends, and commercial intelligence to build accurate baseline forecasts for specific meat products (e.g., beef, poultry, pork, varying ingredients).
× Capacity and Production Planning: Convert forecasts into executable master production schedules, ensuring the plant has enough raw material (carcasses, trimmings) and labor to meet daily and weekly demands.
× Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of both raw materials and finished goods to prevent stock-outs while mitigating the risk of spoilage and distressed products.
× Supply Allocation: Prioritize work orders and allocate scarce product when supply chain disruptions or sudden demand spikes occur.
× Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, aligning production limits with commercial, marketing, and procurement goals.
× KPI Tracking: Monitor metrics such as forecast accuracy (MAPE), forecast bias, and order fill rates, driving continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

× Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
× Experience: 5-7 years of supply chain or production planning experience, preferably in the food and beverage or protein processing industry.
× Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and supply chain software like SAP IBP, JDA, Oracle, or Fishbowl.
× Industry Knowledge: Understanding of cold chain logistics, perishability constraints, and USDA and HAACP compliance and regulations.
× Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical problem-solving, strong communication, and the agility to adapt to rapid changes in livestock supply and market pricing.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
