Responsibilities
- Lead a variety of group fitness classes including cardio, strength, yoga, Pilates, cycling, dance, and specialized training such as Kickboxing and CrossFit.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and ensure participants perform routines safely using correct body mechanics and biomechanics principles.
- Design and adapt class programs to accommodate different fitness levels and individual needs, ensuring inclusive participation.
- Provide motivational coaching to encourage participants, maintain high energy levels, and foster a supportive environment.
- Monitor class participants’ form and technique, offering corrections and guidance to prevent injury and maximize effectiveness.
- Maintain safety standards by being certified in First Aid, CPR, AED operation, and adhering to manual handling protocols.
- Promote fitness services by engaging with clients about personal training options and membership programs to enhance their fitness journey.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and body mechanics essential for effective instruction and injury prevention.
- Proven experience in leading group fitness classes across various formats such as yoga, Pilates, cycling, dancing, sports coaching, or functional training.
- Strong communication skills to clearly demonstrate routines, provide feedback, and motivate diverse participant groups.
- Ability to design engaging program routines tailored to different skill levels while ensuring safety standards are met.
- Certifications in group fitness instruction (e.g., ACE, NASM), yoga instruction, Pilates certification or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of health club operations including gym equipment use, heavy lifting techniques, manual handling procedures, and customer service excellence.
- Passion for promoting health and wellness through coaching that inspires confidence and fosters community engagement within the fitness environment.
