Duties
- Plan and facilitate engaging outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, team sports, environmental projects, and adventure challenges tailored to different age groups.
- Ensure safety by conducting thorough risk assessments, maintaining first aid readiness, and enforcing safety protocols during all activities.
- Manage groups of children and youth with effective classroom management techniques to promote respectful behavior and active participation.
- Support children’s emotional well-being through positive reinforcement, Christian counseling principles (if applicable), and inclusive behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and community partners to develop programs that align with childhood development goals and special education needs.
- Maintain detailed records of activities, attendance, safety incidents, and progress reports to ensure program quality and compliance.
- Foster a fun, supportive environment that encourages teamwork, leadership development, and appreciation for nature’s beauty.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, or early childhood education.
- Strong knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications in child development or special education are a plus.
- Background in sports coaching, babysitting, theater arts or similar activities that promote creativity and physical activity.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and connect with diverse groups of children and youth.
- Ability to lead outdoor activities safely while managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Passion for outdoor education, environmental stewardship, and fostering positive youth development through active learning experiences.
