Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves supporting the production process through precise laboratory work, materials handling, and equipment operation. The ideal candidate will ensure that chemical processes adhere to safety and quality standards while maintaining efficient workflow. Duties:
- Familiarity with hands-on tools and standard laboratory testing equipment.
- Perform routine testing (hands-on operations) and sample preparation.
- Responsible for overall performance of assigned laboratory tests or projects including but not limited to timelines, quantity, and quality of generated data.
- Responsible for generation of appropriate chemical or physical properties reports that meet customer needs and/or test specifications.
- Adhere to company policies and internal operating procedures from the ISO 17025 quality system during the measurement/testing process.
- Ability to work within fast paced laboratory environment.
- Ability to adhere to strict safety protocols.
- Ability to take ownership of all duties related to Test Lab Operations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
Job Skills & Knowledge
- Associate’s degree of applied Science, Chemical Technology or a related field preferred.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in environmental, corrosion, chemical or material science laboratory, including the following:
- Prior experience in accredited test laboratory ISO 17025, NVLAP, A2LA, NADCAP.
- Prior experience with Polarized Light Microscope (PLM).
- Prior experience with Accelerated Weathering testing (UV Exposure, Xenon Arc).
- Prior experience with testing of Coatings, Paints, Surface Finishes.
- Prior experience with sample preparation techniques and ICP-OES.
- Demonstrated experience as being highly motivated and self-directed.
- Proficient with applications and computer-based file structures.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
