Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Full‑Time Day Shift (6a–2pm)
Schedule: 6am -2pm (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CNA to join our team on our full‑time night shift. Our expectation is that you perform your role in a manner that reflects these core values while providing exceptional care to our residents.
POSITION SUMMARY
The CNA provides routine nursing care and services to assigned residents in accordance with each resident’s care plan, regulatory requirements, and facility policies. This position plays a key role in maintaining resident dignity, comfort, and safety throughout the night shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This list represents the essential functions of the role but does not encompass all possible tasks. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Resident Admission & Transition Support
- Prepare resident rooms for arrival (clean linens, name tags, admission kit, etc.)
- Greet and escort residents to their rooms; introduce them to staff and roommates
- Assist with inventory and labeling of personal belongings
- Transport residents to new rooms, vehicles, or designated areas
Direct Resident Care
- Assist with oral hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal care
- Keep residents clean and dry; change linens and clothing as necessary
- Assist with bowel and bladder care, bathroom use, and toileting devices
- Turn and reposition bedfast residents at least every 2 hours
- Observe and report skin concerns, pressure areas, and injuries
- Check frequently on residents unable to call for help
- Support restorative and rehabilitation activities as directed
- Assist with dressing changes and simple treatments as instructed
Nutrition & Hydration Support
- Prepare residents for meals and snacks
- Serve meal trays; assist with feeding as needed
- Maintain clean, filled water pitchers and ensure accessibility for residents
Safety, Reporting & Infection Control
- Follow all safety procedures, exposure policies, and infection‑control protocols
- Participate in shift report at the start of each shift
- Use and properly dispose of personal protective equipment
- Report complaints, grievances, missing residents, or safety hazards immediately
- Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Treat every resident with dignity, fairness, kindness, and respect
Environment & Equipment
- Clean resident care equipment and return it to designated storage
- Perform light housekeeping tasks related to resident care (bedrails, tables, etc.)
- Keep walkways, supplies, and equipment safely stored and uncluttered
QUALIFICATIONS/Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited CNA training program
Licensure & Credentials
Additional Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to make sound independent decisions
- Ability to work respectfully and tactfully with residents, families, staff, and visitors
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a positive attitude
- Must meet facility health requirements, including TB screening
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs occasionally; assist with resident transfers
- Ability to manage the emotional and physical demands of the role
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works throughout the nursing service area (resident rooms, nurse stations, etc.)
- Exposure to interruptions, varying resident conditions, infectious materials, and cleaning chemicals
- May encounter residents who are ill, confused, or emotionally upset
- May be required to assist during emergency situations or evacuations
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay Range: $21.50 – $27.30 per hour
(Actual compensation is based on experience, certifications, and shift differentials.)
