Matosantos Comercial Corp. is seeking an experienced and results-driven Credit Manager to lead our Credit & Collections Department. This role is responsible for developing and executing credit strategies that minimize financial risk, improve cash flow, and support the company's growth while maintaining strong customer relationships.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with excellent financial analysis, decision-making, and team management skills, capable of driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Credit & Collections Department.
- Develop, implement, and maintain company credit and collection policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and approve customer credit applications within established authority limits.
- Monitor customer accounts and manage credit exposure to minimize financial risk.
- Oversee collections activities and develop strategies to reduce delinquent accounts.
- Supervise invoicing, payment application, account reconciliation, and collections processes.
- Analyze aging reports, customer payment trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Customer Service, and Operations to support business objectives.
- Prepare and present financial and operational reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and increase departmental efficiency.
- Coach, mentor, and develop the Credit & Collections team.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Credit & Collections.
- At least 3 years of leadership or management experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or consumer goods industries is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of credit risk analysis and accounts receivable management.
- Experience reviewing financial statements and making credit decisions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership and team development skills.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
