Medical Assistant Responsibilities & Duties
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting with medical tests.
Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
Keep accurate and up-to-date medical records, including recording patient information, test results, and treatment plans.
Sterilize medical instruments and equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Provide patient education on preventive healthcare measures, medication usage, and post-treatment care.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care within a multidisciplinary team.
Maintain inventory of medical supplies and restock as necessary.
Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Medical Assistant Qualifications & Skills
Certification from an accredited program
Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting
Proficiency with electronic health records systems
Strong communication skills
Bilingual abilities
Experience with phlebotomy
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or related certification.
Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and other healthcare software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated empathy and compassion towards patients.
Current CPR certification.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Family medicine: 2 years (Preferred)
- Clinic: 2 years (Preferred)
Language:
- Haitian Creole (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CCMA Certification (Required)
