Job Title: Community Development Support Staff
Job Summary:
The Community Development Support Staff plays a vital role in assisting individual with
disabilities in developing daily living skills, promoting independence, and staying actively
engaged in their communities. This position supports individuals with their morning routines,
health and wellness activities, and meaningful participation in community life.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist with morning routines, including dressing, personal hygiene, and preparing
breakfast.
● Encourage and support daily physical activity, such as walks, light exercise, or
community recreation.
● Help plan and participate in community outings tailored to the individual’s interests and
goals.
● Support involvement in volunteer opportunities, social groups, and recreational
clubs.
● Accompany individuals to appointments, helping them navigate schedules and
communicate as needed.
● Promote social interaction and build confidence in community settings.
● Foster independence and self-advocacy while ensuring safety and comfort.
● Provide positive, person-centered support throughout the day.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent (required); related experience preferred
● Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
● Reliable, patient, and strong interpersonal communication skills
● Able to support both physical and community-based activities
● Must pass background checks and required training
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if driving is required)
