Exciting opportunity for an experienced personal lines insurance professional to provide customized insurance solutions and manage portfolios for our valued personal lines clients. The Account Manager will have extensive knowledge of available markets and underwriting guidelines for placement of client risks. He or she manages the full life cycle of writing personal insurance with a focus on developing and retaining client relationships.
Job Requirements
Qualified applicants must be licensed in property and casualty or be willing to obtain license quickly; have at least one years' experience in servicing in an insurance sales environment; have working knowledge of insurance agency operations and personal lines insurance products; must also have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Promote, document, and sell personal lines of insurance products to inbound prospective clients.
- Generate additional revenue in the form of increased coverage, account rounding, adding policy features, and generating referrals for new business.
- Provide outstanding service to clients by evaluating and discussing premium bearing endorsements in detail.
- Conduct annual reviews with clients. Inform clients about insurance policy terms, conditions, insurance coverage gaps, and risk management issues. Discuss life events and material changes that affect underwriting, surcharges & discounts.
- Review all upcoming renewals received from carriers. Evaluate the need for and oversee remarket processes as outlined by agency procedures. This includes reviewing current non-standard policies to determine eligibility for a renewal rewrite to a standard or preferred market.
- Maintain customer accounts in the agency management system, documenting conversations in activity logs, sending confirmations to insureds, and adhering to all other automation procedures.
- Maintain your own follow-up and suspense file on outstanding workflow items and correspondence; maintain expiration control log; maintain underwriting files in an orderly and up-to-date manner.
- Receive and review all notices of cancellation to determine necessary action.
- Perform marketing activity as required to meet sales, service, and quality standards adopted by the agency.
- Perform all duties relating to customers and companies in a manner that will avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions.
- Create and maintain good working relationships with clients, insurance company underwriters, sales, marketing & claims representatives.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand written and oral communications and interpret abstract information.
- Intermediate PC skills, with a focus on Microsoft Office suite of products or Google Workspace.
- Accurate and organized, with strong attention to detail.
- Adapt to a fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing priorities.
- Self-motivated, with the initiative to prioritize and be self-directed.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both colleagues and managers, across all levels.
- Ability to promote and maintain a team environment.
- Ability to successfully adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as maintain strict confidentiality.
- Possession of, or the ability to quickly obtain, all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance.
- Participate in seminars and other continuing education training to maintain required licenses.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
