American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a Dedicated Education Unit at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience in a large or high-volume hospital setting.

30-bed Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — travel nurses will be providing direct patient care, not performing educational duties

Mixed Med/Surg patient population with complex and high-acuity cases

Patient ratio of 5–6:1

12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
-
Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Block scheduling is generally not approved
-
No on-call requirements

Active GA or Compact RN license required

BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Experience in a Level 1 trauma center or mid-to-large, high-volume hospital required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-acuity settings will not be considered

Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced, and high-pressure clinical situations

Positive attitude and strong time management skills required

This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center known for complex, diverse, and high-volume cases

No RTO (time off requests) will be approved for this assignment
